In light of recent events that occured at Mall St. Matthews on Decemeber 29th of 2015, The Crew is launching an initiative for the youth of our city in 2016.

 

Our goal is to work with the community and leaders to provide safe spaces to high school age youth, especially those of color and that live 'west of I65'. ALL youth are welcome, and we will expand activities and ages as we see fit.

 

Through this initiative, youth will have safe spaces to be themselves without worrying about being targets of police brutality. It is not a crime to be young and black.

 

The 502 Crew will host ‪#‎The502TeenPartySeries‬, movie nights and workshops on topics such as promoting events, podcasting, djaying and more.

 

The Crew will provide chaperones to any youth that want to hang out at the mall Friday and Saturday evenings as long as the parental guidance rule is in place at Mall St. Matthews and Oxmoor Center. Youth, please contact us if you and your friends need a chaperone

We will also form a youth counsel that will consult with us on relevant, fun programming for youth. If you know any youth interested, please contact us at the502crew@gmail.com
